Draft anything Dori already knows

Turn meeting notes, project decisions, and vault history straight into proposals, briefs, and follow-ups — no blank page.

For: consultants and founders drafting proposals or briefs from real client history

If you’ve ever spent an hour staring at a blank document trying to turn a week’s worth of notes into a client proposal, project brief, or status report — this is for you.

Starting a new document from scratch is tedious. You open a blank page, dig through email threads, copy-paste snippets from three different meeting notes, and re-type background context from memory. Because the information is scattered, writing a single client proposal or project brief can eat up half your morning.

How grounded drafting works

Dori already holds your meeting summaries, voice notes, account details, and project decisions in your vault. With Create & share, you select the relevant source files or project folder, choose a document type, and Dori drafts a complete, structured document that synthesizes your real history — with zero manual copy-pasting.

What’s actually driving this, and what it costs

Vault file retrieval and context assembly run locally via Dori’s background engine, at zero API cost. Generating the final prose and synthesizing text across source files is the part that uses your connected AI provider.

What you can draft from your vault

You can turn any accumulated vault context into a structured document:

  • Client Proposals: Turn meeting notes and account histories into a formal proposal with scope, deliverables, and terms.
  • Executive Summaries: Compress 3 months of project notes into a 1-page status update for leadership or board members.
  • Project Kickoff Briefs: Convert raw voice memos, downloaded specs, and meeting action items into a clean onboarding document for a team.
  • Follow-up Memos: Synthesize key decisions from a multi-party call into a clear alignment document.

See Create & share for more on how drafting works.

Quick setup (one time, about two minutes)

Open Create & share

In Dori, go to Create & share.

Say what you want, and from where

Name the Project, Account, or notes you want Dori to draw from, and what you need — e.g. “Draft a 2-page proposal for the Meridian account, focusing on Q4 milestones.”

Review the draft

Dori generates a Markdown note in your vault grounded in that context. Edit as needed.

A real-world walkthrough: Drafting a $30k proposal in 3 minutes

Imagine you’ve had two discovery calls with a client named Meridian and recorded a quick voice memo after each call:

  1. Selecting Context: Open Create & share and ask for a proposal drawing on the Meridian Account.
  2. Generating the Draft: Dori reads Meridian’s meeting summaries, extracted action items, and voice notes.
  3. The Result: Dori outputs a complete draft featuring:
    • Executive summary reflecting Meridian’s exact goals discussed on the calls.
    • Proposed scope of work referencing agreed deliverables.
    • Next steps and timeline aligned with Priya’s Q4 deadline.
  4. Final Polish: Review the draft, make minor tweaks, and export. What used to take two hours of writing is finished in three minutes.

Why grounded drafting beats generic AI prompts

  • No Hallucinated Context: Standard AI tools guess details when you give them short prompts. Dori drafts exclusively from your actual meeting notes and vault decisions.
  • Traceable Source Files: Every section in Dori’s draft links back to the specific note or meeting transcript it was pulled from in your vault.
  • Saves Hours of Admin Work: Stops you from manually re-typing background info or copy-pasting between doc apps.
