Secure Remote Access with Cloudflare Tunnel
Access Dori from your phone or laptop anywhere in the world, over a public URL that needs zero app install — powered by Cloudflare Tunnel.
How to reach Dori from your phone, laptop, or any other device — no app to install, just a link.
Why Cloudflare Tunnel Keeps Dori Private
When running Dori Desktop on your Mac or Dori Engine on a Linux VPS, your vault files, meeting transcripts, and project notes contain sensitive business data.
With Cloudflare Tunnel:
- Zero Open Ports:
cloudflaredmakes an outbound-only connection to Cloudflare’s edge. Nothing inbound is exposed, and there’s no router port forwarding to configure. - A Real Public URL, Not a Private Network: Unlike a mesh VPN, the URL works for anyone you share it with, on any device, without installing anything first.
- Your Own Login, Every Time: Opening the tunnel URL does not sign you in automatically. Whoever visits signs in with their own Dori account, the same way they would at
app.mydori.app.
Setup Guide
Step 1: Enable Remote Access
In Dori, go to Settings → Connect your devices and click Enable remote access. Dori Portal provisions a Cloudflare Tunnel and a DNS record for you automatically — you don’t need a Cloudflare account or to run any commands.
Provisioning happens entirely from the Settings page. Once it finishes, your public URL appears there.
Install the cloudflared binary (the Docker installer offers to do this for you), then run:
cloudflared tunnel run --token <token>The <token> comes from Settings → Connect your devices in Dori Portal — copy it from there rather than running cloudflared tunnel login.
Step 2: Share the URL
Your vault is now reachable at https://<slug>.mydori.app. The slug is auto-assigned but renameable from the same Settings → Connect your devices page.
Send that link to any device — phone, tablet, another laptop. There’s nothing to install on the receiving end; opening the URL in a browser is the whole setup.
Step 3: Sign In on That Device
Visiting the tunnel URL is not an automatically-shared session with app.mydori.app or any other Dori surface. Sign in with your own Dori account on that device, the same way you would anywhere else.
Troubleshooting & Security Check
- Tunnel status: Under Settings → Connect your devices, Dori shows whether the tunnel is currently active and its public URL.
- Renaming your slug: Change
<slug>.mydori.appto something memorable from the same Settings page at any time. - Account required: Anyone opening the URL still needs a valid Dori account — the public URL alone does not grant access to your vault.
